I've been struggling with this annoying unresolved external symbol for a while now. I just don't seem to find where is the error, my library seems linked, but somehow the compiler doesn't see it.

I'm trying to link against the nedmalloc dll exported library, I already linked it using framework dependencies and also including it in Additional Libraries. I also compiled the library using the NEDMALLOC_DLL_EXPORTS to ensure __declspec(dllexport) flag.

This is a c-library, you have to tell the C++ compiler so. Is there a nedmalloc header file that you include? –  zdan Oct 16 '12 at 18:42
    
That was exactly the problem. I tried using extern "C" when including the nedmalloc header, but it gave me countless templates cannot be declared to have 'C' linkage errors, so I end up including the source file directly, and it compiled great! –  Alberto Fernández Oct 16 '12 at 19:54

There seems to be a "bug" (or design) in the that in order to mark the functions as extern "C" you also need to define NO_NED_NAMESPACE:

As you can see extern "C" is only added when NO_NED_NAMESPACE is defined.
