I read about it here but it dosent make sense to me that i see it here.

On the Android client Im setting the:

sSLSocket.setEnabledCipherSuites(new String[] { "SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA"});

The java server debug is showing the *** ClientHello, TLSv1 and

Cipher Suites: [SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA, TLS_EMPTY_RENEGOTIATION_INFO_SCSV]

My setup are a dedicated Java server/Android client that will "only" always communicate. neither parties will never establish connection with anything else.

That's why i setEnabledCipherSuites the way i do.

Server/Client self signed certificated are in place only for testing.

Another thing is the line:

It's a compatibility thing for broken implementations. Your sessions is established using SSL_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA, so there is really no problem. I don't think you can control it via the setEnabledCipherSuites(), it's most probably an integral part of the TLS implementation.

I was just afraid that I suddenly would not have encryption since my client send two cipher to choose from I understand that one of them is of course no cipher, but anyway –  Erik Oct 19 '12 at 11:33

As the RFC says: 'This SCSV is not a true cipher suite (it does not correspond to any valid set of algorithms) and cannot be negotiated'. So there is no way for it to be used for the session. You only have one other, so that is selected. –  Nikolay Elenkov Oct 19 '12 at 11:39
