I got error on this particular line on Lab9.java Queue patientQueue = new Queue<>();

The error is Queue is abstract; cannot be instantiated. I am trying to make a hospital patient queue where level 1 is the highest priority while level 4 is the lowest priority. By doing that, I am trying to implement arraylist and heap. What is wrong?

did you just copy+paste the code from somewhere? the Queue class is deliberately made abstract, and the compiler tells you it shouldn't be. –  Denis Tulskiy Nov 6 '12 at 3:45

public abstract class Queue<T> extends AbstractQueue<T>{

Your class Queue is abstract.

Change it to public class Queue<T> extends AbstractQueue<T>{.

Or, you can make a concrete class that extends your abstract Queue class, such as:

public class ConcreteQueue<T> extends Queue<T> { ... }
