You can throw a javax.validation.ConstraintViolationException containing all errors or an other runtime exception.

ConstraintViolationException(String message,<ConstraintViolation<?>> constraintViolations)

Look at the BeanValidationEventListener from Hibernate, as this does the same. https://github.com/hibernate/hibernate-orm/blob/master/hibernate-core/src/main/java/org/hibernate/cfg/beanvalidation/BeanValidationEventListener.java

If you use life cycle based validation on pre persist, then the persist will automatically fail and throw ConstraintViolationException. No need for further action to cancel the persist if validation fails. You just want to handle the exception in a proper way.
