I am trying to add a simple line graph in excel automatically by using EPPlus. I have and know the range of cells that contain the data that I want to use. I want the graph to look like the following:

The Before and After columns go on for a lot more than what is shown.

I am using this code to create the graph and position it, but I am not sure how to set the data that the graph uses:

ExcelChart ec = ws.Drawings.AddChart("Line Time Graph", OfficeOpenXml.Drawing.Chart.eChartType.Line);
ec.Title.Text = "Benchmarks";
ec.SetPosition(_times.Count + 2, 0, 1, 0);

It might have something to do with ec.Series.Add but I am not sure how to properly use it. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Hope this helps you:

var ran2 = sheet.Cells["G3:G10"]; // label range if there is. Otherwise, let select blank range then edit XML data later to remove 'c:cat' tags (bellow example)

var serie1 = ec.Series.Add(ran1, ran2);
// use serie1 variable to format and so on
// set serie1.HeaderAddress to A2 also

var ran1 = sheet.Cells["B3:B10"];
var serie2 = ec.Series.Add(ran1, ran2);
// use serie2 variable to format and so on

c:cat is the category for ser series, let remove c:cat tags from charts xml, then your chart will use 1,2,3,4,5,... as default for the category (x axis here).

Thanks, I will try this soon. By label range do you mean if I want the graph to have specific values on the x and y axis, such as 1 2 3 4 5 6? –  MatthewRz Nov 12 '12 at 7:20
    
It's X axis values range. It can be null, then X values will be 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... like in your illustrating picture. –  Han Nov 12 '12 at 7:24
    
I have tested it but when I call ec.Series.Add(ran1, null) it throws a NullReferenceException. I am assuming it is because of the null passed. Are you sure you can pass null? –  MatthewRz Nov 12 '12 at 7:56
    
I just thought it works. Let try to pass a blank range, otherwise you should make X values range correspondingly. Sorry for the mistake. –  Han Nov 12 '12 at 8:33
