Hope someone could shed some light on my problem. I have 9 sets of geopoints data. Is there a way to decide/select which is the closest geopoint to my current GPS location(p1 to p9)?

added code, which im stucked at the distancebetween, my apology i'm still at the stage of learning android so much. i'm also find difficulties using For loop as mentioned by Eric below. Please do shed some lights. Thanks.

Why not just use Location.distanceBetween?

Such as:

float results = new float[1];
Location.distanceBetween(lat1, long1, lat2, long2, results);

You can use this within a basic for loop to detect minimum value (lat1 and long1 can be the start point, and you can change lat2 and long2 on each iteration of the loop), then return the point with the least distance.

@Ken So, you have your coordinates in an array from 0-17. Run a loop from 2 to coordinates.length, with i += 2. Then use coordinates[0], coordinates[1], coordinates[i], coordinates[i+1] as the arguments to distanceBetween. And you only need float[1], not 17. –  Eric Nov 13 '12 at 16:35
