This code plots a XY LineChart and (code thanks to Bhupendra) draw lines on chart by left mouse click and if mouse hover, line get selected turns to red and can be deleted or moved.

What I would like to do now is to change line length or slope by selecting one of the end or tail points (A and B in the picture) and set new end x,y point

assuming it's somewhat like Swing, I would think you'd have to repaint the "dirty" area of the component (i.e. where the black line is drawn). –  mre Nov 13 '12 at 13:32

@mre JavaFX rendering is quite unlike Swing, it uses a retained Scene Graph with dirty areas and repaints handled by the JavaFX system, not user code. –  jewelsea Nov 13 '12 at 20:26

Use the following class instead of Line ...

Now it would be wonderful to blend both codes, so to have edit and delete as items in a right mouse click contextMenu, and move line as first upper code. Not so easy... –  Alberto acepsut Nov 14 '12 at 9:10
