What I need is a PagerView with in each tab an EnxpandableListView with data from the database Cursor. All ExpandableListView should stay always expanded. And it should support multi langage (from the menu buttons in ActionBar).

It almost work, but i have strange FC :

My bad. That exception appears for the group children Cursor being null at some points. If you're going to keep the groups open at all times, maybe you'd consider using a normal ListView with two types of rows, on for the groups and one for the child rows. –  Luksprog Nov 18 '12 at 17:13
    
Very interesting the 2 types of rows in a ListView, I will dig in this way. In fact I was posting the full main Activity code hoping some advanced programmer make some comment like "you should not put the asynctask in the main activity", as I am a beginner android app developer, I don't expect my code to be well organized... –  moquette31 Nov 19 '12 at 11:17

CursorLoader solves this problem. Simple example:

Add 3 methods and MyCursorLoaderClass.

public void onLoadFinished(Loader<Cursor> loader, Cursor cursor) {
    adapter.setGroupCursor(cursor);
}



@Override
public void onLoaderReset(Loader<Cursor> arg0) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub

}

static class MyCursorLoader extends CursorLoader{
    DataBase db;
    int sectionNumber;
    long currLangId;

    public MyCursorLoader(Context context, DataBase db, int sectionNumber, long currLangId) {
       super(context);
       this.db = db;
       this.sectionNumber = sectionNumber;
       this.currLangId = currLangId;
    }

    @Override
       public Cursor loadInBackground() {
          return db.getAllCategsInPage(sectionNumber, currLangId);
       }            

    }

After that change this:

ExpandableListAdapter adapter = new MyExpandableListAdapter(**null**, getActivity(),    R.layout.categ, fromCategColumns,
            toCategViews, R.layout.item, fromItemColumns, toItemViews);

And init CursorLoader:
