I have a problem where I need to insert an map object into a vector (having size 2) every time when an update function is called in the main. Below is the code snippet for the class.

As you can see from the above output evenif I am trying to get an new map object the previous values is getting overwritten (timestamp is same) whereas I want that there should be two different map object exists till the swapping of index happens so that previous values existing. Is there any way through which I can get new map object every time so that previous index value didn't get overwritten. Any pointer in this regard will be great help.

Are you sure this isn't working? time() only has a 1-second granularity and this code should all run within 1 second, so it makes sense that they probably all have the same timestamp. –  loganfsmyth Dec 1 '12 at 22:02

I think problem is that you use cacheVector.insert instead of cacheVector[]. Every call of insert method increases vector size by one. This is probably not the thing that you are expecting.
