I am using GCM service in my android app.

  1. Signup in Google API console, got the projectID(senderID) and API key(Browser key).

  2. Created new app with code below.

Client code:

3.The gcm.jar is added to libs folder. Executed and successfully got registerId.

4.Created another new app for server side.

5.Added gcm-server.jar file to libs folder.

These are the steps and code for GCM which I have used. The problem is when I am excecuting the server side code. I am not getting notifications from server and getting logcat(server side) like this:

12-10 15:09:40.371: I/global(945): Default buffer size used in BufferedReader constructor. It would be better to be explicit if an 8k-char buffer is required.

I don't know what is the problem here. Am I doing something wrong in client or server side?

Have you tried using a server key instead of the browser key? They're both supposed to work, but I only tested it with a server key. As for the response you got, the HTTP Response (id=...) is the response you get after a successful delivery of the message. I don't know what's the meaning of the other log line. –  Eran Dec 10 '12 at 13:32

@Eran..In some of codes there are using "server_url" to get notifications(client-side).What it means?how to create it?Is it help me? –  Tej Dec 10 '12 at 15:15
    
What 'codes' are you referring to? I never tried sending a GCM from one application to another application. Perhaps it can work for testing purposes, but in a real application you need a web server - the application will send the registration id to the server and the server will send messages to the registered applications. –  Eran Dec 10 '12 at 17:57
