I am running CodeBlocks, the latest version. I tried to compile a code I found in a tutorial site and I get an error for some reason. I set my project to DirectX9 and I installed the June 2010 DirectX SDK. I also get the warning "unknown pragmas", something tells me the code won't run properly even if it compiles.

Which compiler are you using? The pragma errors your getting kinda tells me its gcc. At any rate if your trying to code an application for windows do yourself a favor and get visual studio express. Along with the windows sdk for what ever version of windows you have. –  johnathon Dec 21 '12 at 23:40

You're probably compiling a C program with C++ compiler. If this is the case, you need to declare your exported functions as extern "C". For example:

extern "C" int CALLBACK WinMain(...);

CALLBACK is a macro for declaring the correct calling convention. –  johnathon Dec 21 '12 at 23:44
But it doesn't include the extern "C", which is the important thing in this case. –  grebulon Dec 22 '12 at 10:57
