I'm working on a science fair project involving spectral frequency analysis and I have been able to use FFT to come up with amplitude, but I'm trying to find the frequency of each wave in realtime.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'the frequency of each wave', but if you're trying to determine the frequencies at which the FFT peaks are occurring after undertaking the FFT, you can use the logic provided in How to get Frequency from FFT result.
