I'm building a voice chat manipulating voice data. I'm getting SAMPLE_DATA (ByteArray) from Microphone and sending it via NetStream send() method. Then i have to convert it back to sound. How can I do it?

This is class establishing the connection,capturing and sending voice data (i know this is ugly but it is temporary version).

streamData function is calling when microphone data is captured. It is sending ByteArray to second peer. Second peer is getting it in read function. There will be stuff decoding it. Now it is working, but i'm getting terrible regular sound in my speakers. I will be grateful for quick response, and I thank for it in advance.

Your approach seems reasonable though I've always seen a media server in between a streaming source and a receiver. You might try setting up Red5 (or similar), streaming the audio as a 'live' source and then playing it back from the other side.

While it's probably PCM in transmission(though several kinds of compression are available) it's possible that you are hearing noise because you've missed a step in translation.

I found out how to receive sound. In read function I load buffer with input data, and when the buffer reaches 8192 bytes length I call play function on overriden class (StreamSound). In streamsound there is a event listener (to SampleDataEvent) which gets the data from buffer and move it to speakers. The next problem is that i hear some part of my voice, but it has not acceptable quality (i dont know what is the speaker talking). Mainly the speaker emits the horrible noise. Any ideas how to deal with it? I thought about FFT libraries, but I'm not sure is it good idea. –  Nabuchodonozor Dec 30 '12 at 12:08
