I'm making a project for school, for the class JAVA. I want to make the game pong, so far so good. Now my ball is moving, my paddles are moving, my ball comes back from a wall when it hits the wall. BUT, when my ball won't hit back when it comes to a paddle. It just goes over the paddle.

Now I think that it is because my ball class can't see the change of the height of the paddles when I move them. When I watch it witch system.out.println(); the height remains the same.

Can anyone please help me? If I can get the height of the paddles dynamically, I can go on with my project.

See here for some game loop/logic and collision detection in Pong ( my pong is very simple ball does not move at angles so its not really fully functional but shows the logic needed to create a game in Swing). Also dont use KeyListener use KeyBindings for Swing (but all of this is shown in my above linked answer) –  David Kroukamp Jan 5 '13 at 8:12
