hi i want to use n number of dynamic where conditions for my solutions..

and in my scenario i've to fetch all the xml elements which all must contains all the elements of the array ( arrSearchContents ) which is build by splitting all the words of the strSearchContent.

i want a solution something like bellow code. can any body rectify the code

the selected list should contains all the key words of search string.

as per example : if strSearchContent = "phone color blue"

then as a result it should return :

<MDetails ModelNo="3" Desc="x phone color blue"/>
<MDetails ModelNo="13" Desc="y phone color blue"/>

let desc = (string)d.Attribute("Desc")
where desc != null && 
      arrSearchContents.All(keyword => desc.Contains(keyword))
select d;

But it also will match "bluephonecolor". If you want to match words you can use regular expression, or split description by words:

@pks welcome, btw if all MDetails elements have Desc attribute you can omit desc != null check. Also keep in mind, that String.Split() without arguments by default splits string by words. And.. if answer worked for you, you can accept it :) – Sergey Berezovskiy Jan 10 '13 at 12:09

You should check it node attribute contains value, not vise-verse

btw, you can actually put the condition into the xpath: "//MDetails[contains(@Desc, {0})]" (where {0} is your search term) – Efrain Jan 10 '13 at 12:48
Yes, sure, but I don't like to create long XPath expressions in LINQ to XML. XPath is not well known by many developers, so I use it only to select all elements in the DOM with specified name. Else is done by LINQ in statically typed manner. Again - there can be lots of options here. Thanks for response – Ilya Ivanov Jan 10 '13 at 12:52
