Hi everyone I am new to Android and I am using the SQLiteDataBase and I am getting an error about the cursor not being closed which is not fatal, but is annoying. Here is it.

I get the cursor exception.

you are not closing db inside getAllAsCursor method after select query or before return statement –  ρяσѕρєя K Jan 14 '13 at 16:07
    
Have you tried cursor.close() at the end of your getWebPage(...) method? Try calling it after you create the new WebPage and before return webpage; –  Squonk Jan 14 '13 at 16:09

You need to close the cursor and database correctly. Modify your getWebPage() method to the following:

In you example, what would happen if the cursor is not null, but it is empty (and moveToFirst() returns false ? –  njzk2 Jan 14 '13 at 16:25
    
It's actually more efficient when using SQLiteOpenHelper to never explicitly close the database unless you intend to do something such as delete it or copy it to another location (for example). –  Squonk Jan 14 '13 at 16:25

@Squonk I totally agree. I didn't want to write about that as the question was pretty specific on how to close it. I wrote multiple answers suggesting keeping the database opened and accessible via application class to prevent multiple open/close calls –  WarrenFaith Jan 14 '13 at 16:31
    
@WarrenFaith : my point was, if the cursor is not null (no error), but empty (moveToFirst() == false), you don't close it. –  njzk2 Jan 14 '13 at 16:42

Call:

cursor.close();

Whenever you have an open cursor you have finished with (i.e. in your getAll() method).

You should close db connection in finally try-catch
