I'm new to mpi and I want to write a program in C++ that calculates the determinant of a matrix and in the beginning of trying to write it I get this error when trying to compile with mpi compiler.

Run it in a debugger, see where it segfaults, and then examine the state of the program to find out why it segfaults. –  NPE Jan 25 '13 at 17:59

I am sure there are multiple problems. The immediate one is the type cast in:

cout<<determinan((int**)matrix,3,3)<<'\n';
                 ^^^^^^^

This isn't a valid cast since matrix isn't an array of pointers.

@VahidNateghi: Surely, it didn't compute the determinant correctly though? For one thing, minus*=minus is wrong. –  NPE Jan 25 '13 at 18:26
    
No it didn't, I was so occupied with solving that segfault error that I didn't notice these. I corrected the minus problem as well to minus*= (-1)*minus and it's still incorrect –  Vahid Nateghi Jan 25 '13 at 19:01
