I'm trying to generate random noise using Normal Distribution where the formula is - Cumulative Normal Distribution Formula. Now, I know the value of sigma (standard deviation) and mean and the value of x should vary randomly from 0 to 1. I need to generate the entire thing in Java. I have found classes NormalDistribution and NormalDistributionImpl. But not sure which method to use.

I'm not very good in these statistical analysis. So please help!

You are not going to be able to use the integral in Java. You need a function which gives you the cumulative distribution. – Peter Lawrey Jan 29 '13 at 18:40

Have you experimented with the Apache classes you've listed above? I'd try them out and see if they worked for me. They give results from a normal distribution and theoretically should work. – Hovercraft Full Of Eels Jan 29 '13 at 18:45
