# How to plot a 3 set proportional Venn/Euler diagram?

I have a set of microarray data, and I would like to represent it according to the attached figure (done with PowerPoint). I have tried the various packages available for R (VennDiagram, venneuler, limma). However, I was not able to draw the data proportionally or showing the values.

Does anyone have an idea how to do it?

I don't think Venn diagrams were ever intended to show proportional areas. In any case, it's next to impossible for your readers to interpret the relative areas of the overlaps in a meaningful way. If they could, you wouldn't need the numbers in the first place. My suggestion is to step back, think about the primary message you want to get across, and adjust (by hand if necessary) the graphic to highlight that message. --and yes, Ed Tufte is my Prophet :-) –  Carl Witthoft Feb 2 '13 at 14:19
