I need some help creating an avi File out of Bitmaps. The Problem is that in the End i get a corrupted avi File. If I read it with a HEX_Editor the whole avi Header is 0...

I use Borland C++ Builder 6 and Windows 7 64bit

AVIINFO Struct:

I don't know exactly how to fill the AVICOMPRESSOPTIONS, or if the funcions I'm using are correct...

In your code, you close the file and I presume you are reopening the file again. When you reopen the file, could you check if you are opening in O_APPEND mode instead of O_WRITE mode? –  Ganesh Feb 11 '13 at 17:13
    
hey, thanks for the reply! Which File do you mean? "FileSource" reads the Bitmap (both Headers and Data), after it's written to the Stream I close the File and go to the next Bitmap in Directory "DirSource". I open each the Bitmap like this: FileSource = fopen(sourcepathbuffer, "rb") "sourcepathbuffer" contains the Path and Filename –  Cittles Feb 12 '13 at 9:15
    
You are writing the BMP to AVIStream, frame by frame. My question was related to the stream. Do you close and reopen the stream? If so, please open the AVI stream in O_APPEND mode. –  Ganesh Feb 12 '13 at 16:31
    
No, I only close the Stream if an error occurs an the programm exits, then I close it with AVIStreamRelease(). Furthermore I can't find any Function or Flag to open a Stream in O_APPEND mode.. –  Cittles Feb 13 '13 at 8:26

Some time ago, but here is the solution:

If streaming is finished, you have to close the Stream by using AVIStreamRelease(). Only then the Header will be generated and written to the File.
