I am trying to pass in a string from a parent process to 3 of the child processes. But for some reason all the child process wasn't getting anything from the pipe. Did I do anything wrong? Like when i am printing the readbuffer inside the child function, I don't see the string i passed in from the parent process.

Anyone got an idea why? Thanks alot for your help.

You create a pipe in the parent process after the fork. That won't work: the child neither sees the result of parent's writes to fd array nor inherits file descriptors of the pipe.

The first thing to fix is this: create a pipe before you fork. There are a number of caveats, e.g. if the parent is writing and the child is reading, the child should close inherited writing side of a pipe to be able to detect EOF.
