i am struggling to request web service using https. I am getting this kind of error:

An error occured : The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “SERVER_ADDRESS” which could put your confidential information at risk.

I am not using NSUrlConnectionDelegate. Here is my method:

How i could solve this problem ?

Seems to me you are having problems with a self-signed certificate.. correct? I recommend you change to a lib such as AFNetworking or MKNetworking, which makes these kind of problems easier to handle. Check: stackoverflow.com/questions/13077753/… –  Paul Peelen Feb 15 '13 at 12:36

You should add below delegate methods to your communication class.

- (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:(NSURLAuthenticationChallenge *)challenge

- (BOOL)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection canAuthenticateAgainstProtectionSpace:(NSURLProtectionSpace *)protectionSpace

Well my solution was to create class AsyncURLConnection this code i found somewhere at http://stackoverflow.com but can't find it now. So i will give the code:

This always happen for self-signed certificate. By using NSURLConnectionDelegate

- (BOOL)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection
canAuthenticateAgainstProtectionSpace:(NSURLProtectionSpace *)protectionSpace

I would like to update my current code, because in other way i would need to make lot's of changes as now everything is done in blocks. Also i like writing code in this approach –  Streetboy Feb 19 '13 at 11:11
    
Have a look at AFNetworking. It uses success- and failure-blocks and NSURLConnectionDelegate. If you can't use the framework directly, you will probably find the code to help you with your problem there. –  patric.schenke Feb 22 '13 at 9:23

Trying this delegate method solved same issue for me.
