So for the life of me I cannot figure out why the for loop for encryption is not being entered! I have placed a number of print statements to confirm that it is not entering in theory it should print im inside 3 times, instead it gets inside the first conditional but then doesn't get inside the first for loop (the one controlled by i)

the programs current output is:

Use less than < to denote your end of loop condition. Replace:

for (int i=0; i>a.length(); i++){

with

for (int i=0; i < a.length(); i++){

The same applys here:

for (int l=0; l>full.length(); l++){

change to

for (int l=0; l < full.length(); l++){

I guess you are comparing with wrong operator, shouldn't it be i < a.length() and l < full.length()?

This is because you have

i>a.length()

i starts at zero, so it cannot be greater than the length of your string, no matter how short that string is.

You need to change the condition to i < a.length()
