I am using Paramiko script to connect a Cisco like device but failed. However, I can connect the device by normal ssh, here is the Python script:

I wonder how can I make Paramiko to work like ssh? Did I miss some configuration setting? Thanks in advance.

Did you try loading the system_host_keys?

ssh_client = paramiko.SSHClient()
ssh_client.load_system_host_keys()
ssh_client.set_missing_host_key_policy(paramiko.AutoAddPolicy())
ssh_client.connect(host, username=username, password=password, timeout=3)
ssh_stdin, ssh_stdout, ssh_stderr = ssh_client.exec_command(commands)
ssh_client.close()

Also try to make use of exceptions:

except paramiko.AuthenticationException:
      log.debug("Authentication problem to -- Server: %s"%host)
      output = 'Authentication Error'
except socket.error:
      log.debug("Comunication problem to -- Server: %s"%host)
      output = 'Communication Error'
