I want to integrate the new service from Amazon Elastic Transcoder. Since my application is running on python 2.4 can't use boto.

So I am writing direct http call. The problem I have is that it tells me this when I do post requests, but works for get request:

The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. Check your AWS Secret Access Key and signing method. Consult the service documentation for details.

Because I was quite frustrated with AWS sqs api and request signing in python 3 I decided to create a project on github. I have just pushed the project so it is in a very early stage but I will soon add more functionality. Good news is it already has what you need: AWS version 4 signing algorithm: https://github.com/rcosnita/aws-tests

Take a look at: - https://github.com/rcosnita/aws-tests/blob/master/aws/sqs/tests/itest_sqs_client.py

This should get you started with aws request signing.

Thanks for the replay. I have found what I was doing wrong, for post I didn't send the additional payload that was required. As a side note it's funny that you replay. We went to the same university. I remember your name from all exams. –  Invokker Apr 2 '13 at 13:58
