I have been using the following code to read a dicom image using DCMTK frame work to display it in a UIImage view.

I am getting the output as this. where i went wrong in processing the dcm image??? enter image description here

From the codes above, i assume you are reading in a 16-bit image, is that correct? – Gary Tsui Mar 12 '13 at 6:33

My guess is the image is compressed. DCMTK, by default, only supports some forms of compression. JPEG2000, for example, is not supported by default. Check the transfer syntax of the image to see if it is a compression format DCMTK supports. See here for more information about transfer syntax.
