I am creating a horizontal barplot using a factor variable (and an associated numerical variable) in ggplot. When plotted vertically, I was able to reorder the factor variable so that the plot descends by the numerical variable.

When I flipped it horizontally, the higher values are at the bottom.

I tried using rev() to reorder the values in a descending fashion, thinking that would flip the current order, but it didn't work.

Code is below.

Is your problem that the order of the factor is incorrect on the axis? If so, there are many, many examples of this on SO. You need to order your factor in the way you want see ?factor using ordered=TRUE. Also, be aware that since we don't have your data, all the code of your plot is pretty much non-informative. Try to create a reproducible example, and we can find the problem much more quickly. –  alexwhan Mar 4 '13 at 0:55
This example is not reproducible. When you say using rev(), can you provide the code that did not work as you expected. –  mnel Mar 4 '13 at 0:56
