I am trying to display the keywords searched in a Twitter app's search field in a table view, along with the number of tweets returned for this search. From the main ViewController, I'm trying to create another table view programmatically. And whenever I add an object to the NSMutableArray ( which is the data for the table that I want to display), the object gets stored in it but for the next function call the array doesn't retain its value. Since I'm using ARC, I cannot use the "retain" and "release" statements either.

How do I fix this problem?

Kindly please help.

You are adding objects in prepareForSegue. When is this ever called again? Are you coming back to this controller, and if so, how? –  rdelmar Mar 14 '13 at 23:29
    
I seriously doubt that your problem has anything to do with your array not retaining its contents. Try putting a log in viewDidLoad. Is it logged more than once as you go back and forth to this controller? –  rdelmar Mar 14 '13 at 23:47
    
Ya, I put a log message in viewDidLoad and that helped me solve the problem. Since the viewDidLoad method was called every time I switched back to the view, my values were lost. I fixed it now, thanks! :) –  user1646683 Mar 15 '13 at 4:09

Put your [searchCount addObject:count]; code after you caliculated count.

Thank you. I just figured out this one too. But I changed the code in viewDidLoad to check if these variables are nil and if so, only then I am allocating and initializing them. That along with shifting this one line of code solved my problem completely. –  user1646683 Mar 15 '13 at 4:13
