# methods to rotate around a point, html canvas

i am trying to rotate a ball around a center point `(cx, cy)`. when i do:

ball.x = cx+Math.cos(angle);
ball.y = cy+Math.sin(angle);

angle += 0.1;
ball.draw(context);
setTimeout(keepDrawing, 40);

it works, but since i've just started to learn this i tried another method it doesn't produce what i thought

Oops, You have a typo:

``````y1 = ball.x - cy,
``````

should be:

``````y1 = ball.y - cy,
``````

But then you have the ball rotating barely within the canvas (notice the ball rotates into view only on the 4 corners of the canvas)
