Is there any working example how to read an animated gif, change color of any pixel in any frame of it using GD library or ImageMagick and save it as an animated gif again?

I have been googling for it for 2 days and I did not found answer anywhere.

Edit: I have almost perfect solution. But some transparent (animated) gifs do not retain its transparency correctly (only part of the transparency is corrupted).

The code i added is a solution for my initail question - how to modify animated gif. But I have a (new) problem now - the transparency does not work always 100% correctly. May I rather close this question as answered, copy the code above and ask for this new problem in a new question? –  Petr Mar 19 '13 at 15:01

I believe that an animated GIF has multiple frames, so the algorithm for this would be to read the gif as multiple frames, change the pixel colours in each frame, and then save it again. Are you able to load an animated gif in GD?

I tried this library, it can generate animation, but cannot work with existing animated gif. There is also similar class from the same author GIFDecoder.class.php, but it doesn't work at all. Mybe if I use GIFEncoder.class.php (which work), I would need only be able to get frames from original image and delays between frames... –  Petr Mar 18 '13 at 14:42

@Petr then I think you need to extract all frames, loop all frames trough this code. A gif file is separated with "\x00\x21\xF9\x04". So proably you can split it on that with explode(). After you change the color of every frame you do the trick backwards, and it should be all intact. –  S.Visser Mar 18 '13 at 14:47
    
And what about frame delays? Color maps etc? It will not be so easy. –  Petr Mar 18 '13 at 15:20
