I need to find all bitseries of a fixed length (´n´bits) that are orthogonal, regardless of rotation. I.e. no matter how I rotate them, they are still different.
Example for ´n´ = 3
Bitseries ----------- 000 001 010 011 100 101 110 111
The Output I would be looking for is
(000,001,011,111), since all other bitseries can be obtained by rotating the others, e.g. by rotating left once between each step 001 => 010 => 100 are equivalent.
Getting different rotations of the values in the set is ok, as long as there is no value
a in the set which can be rotated to represent another value
b in the set with
a != b
I am looking for a fast solution, bruteforce (i.e. putting all series in a set and then eliminating duplicates is not an option). The approach beeing simple (implementable in hardware) would be a benefit.
