I am trying to create a database Windows Phone 8 App. When I was testing the app, I found that, I get an sqlceexception if I try to delete a parent item with a child item.

System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException: The primary key value cannot be deleted because references to this key still exist. [ Foreign key constraint name = FK_CygSubs_Semester ]

This does not happen, If I close and open the app once.

Could someone help me? I need a solution very urgently.

What line does the exception occur on? Can you clarify what you mean by "This does not happen, If I close and open the app once." What exactly do you have to do to get this to work? –  Matt Lacey Mar 27 '13 at 15:29
    
The exception is shown in the closing curly brases after cygdb.submitchanges() of deletesem(). –  Vishnu Mar 27 '13 at 16:06
    
This problem happens only if I try to delete right after the addition of the element. Exit from the app, then open the app again, try to delete it, everything works fine. –  Vishnu Mar 27 '13 at 16:08
    
In that you're calling FirstOrDefault() have you checked that you actually have a "first" object and it's not a problem with submitting changes to the "default" object? –  Matt Lacey Mar 28 '13 at 15:18
