Got some code that I am using to make a free draw tool on the HTML5 canvas. The code works great in Chrome, but in Firefox the mouse draws to a different point on the canvas. I have tried to research the offset positions to see if there are any issues with firefox, but I have not found any. I have pasted the code below; any help/pointers would be much appreciated.

You're setting your _x and _y to totally different things in different browsers, because layerX and layerY don't exist in every browser.

If you want coordinates relative to the canvas, I suggest using ev.clientX - canvas.getBoundingClientRect().left and similar for the vertical coordinate.
