I'm working on this visualization:

on the #scatterplot div (scroll down below the circle). I set the Y scaling to logarithmic and changed the second number to 1: y = d3.scale.log().range([h - 60, 1])

Domain:

I see a bunch of "infinity" values in the log whenever the data is 0. The negative infinity asymptote should be well to the left of the x-0 Y axis.

Infinity is JavaScript's way of telling you that you are trying to divide by 0. Always check that your denominator is not 0 before trying to perform a division.

Math.log(0)
=> -Infinity

Thanks but I'm looking for how to avoid that division by zero in D3. I must be doing something wrong with my setup. –  user994165 May 1 '13 at 21:57

Does this

y = d3.scale.log().clamp(true).domain([min, max]).range([min, max]).nice();

work for you ????
