I want to finish my threads with a mutex. The first thread won't execute, thread 2 & 3 execute.

Does anyone know what this problem could be? Sometimes thread 1 is executed but then 2 or 3 is not executed. I don't know what the problem is here.

This is the function of the threads, the first thread is not executed!

what are you trying to do?

At least one problem I see it that you unlock the mutex without locking it...

When you create a thread it starts spontaneously (more or less) so you can't assume add_request will be called after doSomething().

You can lock and then unlock. Also consider using ptheard_join if you want to wait until the threads finish.

I lock the mutex for num_requests. After that i unlock. Then i lock the mutex again for handling my thread. In that function i unlock the mutex again. I don't understand what you mean? I'm also new in multithreading.. I lock and unlock the mutex always. Not? And thanks for the tip. Will use pthread from now on. Thanks. –  user1209154 May 12 '13 at 9:09
    
I just want to finish every incomming request. So this is a simple example to start learning it. So the first thing i want to do is that it finishes the 3 threads –  user1209154 May 12 '13 at 9:11
    
You need to understand that doSomeThing can be called BEFORE add request –  Guy L May 12 '13 at 17:04
    
Thanks, still one last problem, there is always one thread executed. How is that possible to fix? pthread signals? –  user1209154 May 12 '13 at 23:23
