I am working on an Android Java Platform and want to use a complete program that i developed in c++ to run.
The c++ program consists of several cpp files with headers. My new Android project attaches an outer shell to my c++ program and lets users configure and run the c++ program via a "nicer" gui and easier preferences setup processes.
After working through several examples with passing strings which worked fine i am now at the problem to start my cpp main function via Java.
I constructed a static Argc and Argv from the Questions given in other answers here, but i am unable to call the main.cpp (which i renamed to old_main).
When i run the c++ program in my Linux environment it works fine and does how it should.
Now i face 2 questions:
Is it possible to run (run = just start from Java and emulate the parser from the missing shell input) such a complex program via JNI and JAVA with
- several networking procedures in the c++
- threads starting and ending all over the c++ code
- evaluation data from files
2 Can it maybe be better to write the outer Android Gui and controls in pure c++ to get the best control over the program?
