I have a spreadsheet that has a column with ton per hour numbers that are 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 12.5, 13, 14.5, 15, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 33, 35, 38, 40, 43, 45, 47, 48. I need a macro that will sort by these and group them by these values. I need the macro it to group them by 6-7, 10-15, 16-21, 24-28, 30-38, and 40-48. I know how to sort the column but I'm not sure about a code to tell it to group the rows into these buckets. It also needs to create a column on the far left with the groups description such as 6-7 MTPH (Metric Tons Per Hour), 10-15 MTPH and so on. Any help is much appreciated. I'm actually trying to help a guy with this and this is the code he has written so far. It's not very clean but I didn't want to take the time to clean up code that won't be used. It works right now but it won't work if new items are added to the list. I have tried to add pictures before and after grouping at the bottom but I don't think they're working. Thanks Skip Intro, the code works great but just has a couple of problems I'm not sure how to fix. For some reason it is replacing my column headers with the first line of the first group. Also, it is labeling the groups correctly but is there a way to merge and center the cells for each group so there is just one 6-7 MTPH for the whole group instead of one for each line? – Jamie Walker May 16 '13 at 14:36
    
I didn't see your requirement for merging until I saw the pictures. Will have a look at fixing that. The text should start at row 2 of the column, which it has done in testing. Will see if I can replicate it. Whilst I'm at it, can I ask why your groups have gaps i.e. 16-21 then 24-28? What happens to a result of 23? – Skip Intro May 16 '13 at 14:40
    
Thanks, I really appreciate it. The reason is because these numbers are the Metric Tons Per Hour my companies systems produce and there isn't a system that produces 23 MTPH. – Jamie Walker May 16 '13 at 14:49

I think the OP just wants ColA to be sorted into descending order and ColB holding a value of 6-7 MTPH / 10-15 MTPH etc. Great code, though! – Skip Intro May 16 '13 at 13:41
    
Yes, but I actually need column I sorted in descending order and will need to add a column A with the headers. I tried to alter the code provided. I guess it depends on when the new column is added in the code whether it will be column I or column J that needs to be sorted. – Jamie Walker May 16 '13 at 13:46
