For a number of reasons we have the following problem. The development kernel is 3.5
The program MyProgram has mmapped the set of N pages P from device /dev/MyDevice as private and copy on write.
MyProgram has written to m out of N pages, creating a the set P' of new pages by using copy-on-write.
In a single ioctrl on MyDevice:
- obtain access to the new pages P' created on write in the kernel.
- reset the state of the virtual memory table to the original state, such that a new write will trigger the copy-on-write mechanism.
How can we do this, or equally where do I start looking? I suspect this may involve directly manipulating the kernel VMA tables.
