I've installed clang 3.2 on my Ubuntu 13.04 machine, and have compiled and built libc++, and everything is in place. However, when I try to link my (really simple) code, the linker reports that references to std::cout etc. are undefined.

If anyone could advise me what I could do to solve this, I'd be very grateful -- I've tried everything I can think of.

The errors show headers and symbols from GCC's libstdc++ indicating world.o was built with -stdlib=libstdc++ but you're linking with -stdlib=libc++ which is incompatible.

You need to use the same -stdlib option consistently.

Interesting, cheers. The command to compile world.o uses it correctly, like so: clang++ -v -stdlib=libc++ -lpthread -ldl sqlite3/sqlite3.o src/world.o -o bin/world However the file sqlite3.o that it gets linked against is compiled with clang -c -o sqlite3/sqlite3.o sqlite3/sqlite3.c, because it is a C file. Could this be related to the issue? – biot023 May 27 '13 at 15:18
    
+1 because it solves my problem too. But how can you (or anyone) tell from the error messages that the compile and linking were done using different header/libraries? – Arbalest Sep 5 '13 at 19:09

@Arbalest, because I know that /usr/include/c++/4.7.3/iostream is the path for a header that comes with the libstdc++ from GCC 4.7.3, and if the code has a reference to something defined in a libstdc++ header then it must have been compiled using libstdc++, but the linker command shows -std=libc++. – Jonathan Wakely Sep 5 '13 at 19:56
