I am new to spring mvc and hibernate. To help me understand I followed this tutorial http://viralpatel.net/blogs/spring3-mvc-hibernate-maven-tutorial-eclipse-example/ I am getting this error org.hibernate.HibernateException: No Session found for current thread. I have included the transaction manager and @transaction on the service implementation and the dao. please find the errors and code snippets below

Uncomment this line in the spring config file and it should work. Without this the @Transactional annotations are ignored. The tag you have in the beginning is from mvc namespace (default namespace in your case) - the purpose of that is different from this one. So you need to have both.
