I got this error because i create a custom usermodel, and When i got all setup, which i look into the django/contrib/auth/models.py, i set the email as USERNAME_FIELD,and REQUIRED_FIELD is some field that are not defined in AbstractBaseUser and PermissionMixin which my UserModel inherited, i can access all section except the 'Po User add section', and i put on my codes in models.py and admin.py and settings.py ,urls.py ,wish somebody could help. Thank you so much

The parent class (django.contrib.auth.admin.UserAdmin) creates an add_fieldsets attribute that includes the username field. Add an attribute to your MyUserAdmin class called add_fieldsets and treat it similar to the fieldsets attribute -- it defines fields you want to show in the add form. I had this same issue, except that I did override the add_fieldsets to include an email field, and got the same error. There was a bug filed where over-riding the create_superuser method on a custom model manager would throw an error, because Django was still looking for the username keyword. That bug was fixed over nine months ago, so doesn't feel like it should be relevant. Furthermore, my example (and your's, minus the previously mentioned error) mimics that from Two Scoops of Django, which presumably worked from them ... –  Brian Dant Jun 20 '13 at 20:54

The parent class (django.contrib.auth.admin.UserAdmin) has an add_fieldsets attribute that includes the username field. Add an attribute to your MyUserAdmin class called add_fieldsets and treat it similar to the fieldsets attribute -- it defines fields you want to show in the add form.
