I'm in FF 17 and every once in a while I get this error below. I have no idea what this is or what the browser is trying to communicate.

I was not aware that there were other JavaScript files running, this looks like it is part of the browser?

I was under the impression or assumption that browser code was written in a compiled language and not JavaScript.

Why is it not error free? Because there's no such thing as an error-free, non-trivial program (and many trivial programs also have errors). –  Barmar Jun 19 '13 at 21:37

This is a reported bug in Firefox. See Bug 795978

I found this by googling "firefox MarkupView.jsm"

This is part of the Developer Tools, from the name I guess it has something to do with automatically updating something in the debugger when a DOM element changes. And the bug history shows that a fix was submitted, and then backed out -- I guess it didn't work. –  Barmar Jun 19 '13 at 22:45
