I am creating a speech recognition application using CMUSphinx 4. It is a Windows application. I want my application to recognize even proper nouns and words which are not there in the dictionary and which cannot be guessed beforehand. In one of the forums it was written that in order to do so we would have to "enable G2P support in a FullDictionary component by submitting a g2p file to automatically convert words to phonetic transcription".
Also at this site it was mentioned that we need to add the following lines to the dictionary component in the configuration file:
<property name=”allowMissingWords” value=”true”/> <property name=”createMissingWords” value=”true”/> <property name=”g2pModelPath” value=”path_to_the_g2p_model”/> <property name=”g2pMaxPron” value=”2″/>
The "wordReplacement" property needs to be removed and the dictionary should be of type FullDictionary. I downloaded the g2p model from this site and followed the above instructions.
But on running the application I got a null pointer exception.
Firstly we have been asked to add the properties: "g2pModelPath" and "g2pMaxPron" to the dictionary component (of type FullDictionary), but I could not find these 2 properties as member of the FullDictionary class anywhere.
I must be missing out some configuration or doing something wrong. Kindly guide me in the configuration of g2p, so that my application can recognize any of the spoken words.
