I want to save the attachments on all of the e-mails in a folder to a chosen location on the local machine or network, remove the attachments from the e-mail, and then leave a hyperlink in the e-mail body that shows where the documents are located.

I have found such a macro. HOWEVER, from time to time, I get an error 13 "type mismatch" and when I open up the debugger, the only thing that is highlighted is the "Next" statement at the very bottom of the macro.

The MAPIFolder.Items collection could contain object types other than MailItems, such as meeting requests.

If you change it to check the type of item before you process it:

    If TypeOf itm Is MailItem Then

        Set msg = itm
