I have created a pure css hexagon which renders fine on all browsers except on some Android Browsers e.g.: Galaxy Note. The rounded triangles created by the generated content are not rendered correctly.

thank you very much @Juan. I hoped I could achieve it with just one element and generated content, but this will do, I've also updated my Fiddle. With some positioning I can make the rounded corners work. Because transformations are not widely supported in older browsers. –  Mister Melotte Jun 26 '13 at 10:11

This answer contains two different solutions both tested to be working in my nexus 4 stock browser and chrome.

  • Triangles, losing the border radius
  • Rectangles rotated with border radius

Triangles, losing the border radius

Avoiding the :before and :after approach seems to fix the issue, I've tested the following code on my mobile devices (Android as asked) and they work perfectly, the problem in this particular case is the lack of rounded corners. This one is created by positioning the triangles on top and bottom of a rectangle giving the effect of an hexagone. Once again, here I cannot control the border radius property.

Rectangles rotated with border radius

It can also be achieved by rotating rectangles 60 degrees, in this one I also avoid the use of the pseudo clases for :before and :after, this option does allow rounded corners so it may be more suitable for your particular question:

And finally, set the border radius (for this size, anything greater than 3-4px results in strange corners and would probably require some fiddling with the positions to correct.
