I have a big problem with this. I have this url for my JSON http://phsjulchsvr4.therock.com.ph:1217/api/users and Im going to parse it using this code:

public JSONObject getJSONFromUrl(String url) {

        is = httpEntity.getContent();           

    } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (ClientProtocolException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (IOException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

    try {
        BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(
                is, "iso-8859-1"), 8);
        StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
        String line = null;
        while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) {

The problem is I can't connect to this url because it has an authentication. What should I gonna do. To connect this url using my JSONParser class? The HttpResponse can execute the url

Here is what you might need:

Try using this when doing the request:

    try {
        // defaultHttpClient
        DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient();
        HttpGet httpGet = new HttpGet(url);

        // Set the username and password
        String authStr = "username" + ":" + "password";

        // Encode authentication values, and add to header
        String authStrEncoded = Base64.encode(authStr.getBytes("UTF-8"));
        httpGet.addHeader("Authorization", "Basic " + authStrEncoded);

        HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpGet);
        HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity();
        is = httpEntity.getContent();           

    } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (ClientProtocolException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (IOException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
    }

the Base64.encode needs an arguments of byte[],int not only byte[] –  NewDroidDev Jul 22 '13 at 8:35
    
Ohh sorry, try using this: String authStrEncoded = new String(Base64.encode(authStr.getBytes("UTF-8"), Base64.NO_WRAP)); –  Henric Jul 23 '13 at 12:21
