I need to create a custom datepicker where first column shows day name, day number and second column shows month name and year.

Current month works great but for every other month first day of month is always monday.

Try to change the localisation of the NSDateFormatter.

For example,

NSLocale *locale = [[NSLocale alloc] initWithLocaleIdentifier:@"en_GB"];
_dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init];

Will localize the date formatter for Germany. Try to find your country, and localise it (In case you want to force to work for specific place and not the device settings).

You need to reload the first component when the second one has changed.

I already do that at (void)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView didSelectRow:(NSInteger)row inComponent:(NSInteger)component I have added whole code of pickerview delegates – u.gen Jul 22 '13 at 14:07

I end up getting first day of the month from calendar and built to month on it, not the best solution but it works
