Why doesn't Closure Compiler rename my path, start, etc properties, but it does rename my limit property when using advanced compilation?

I want it to rename every property and method in my code, except the exported constructor window.RFM.

Here is the constructor snippet:

    ...

Which gets compiled to:

    ...
    this.path = '/';
    this.c = 10;
    ...

I have tried adding annotations like @private and @constructor, but it had no effect.

I have been testing on http://closure-compiler.appspot.com/

Property names that are defined in (the default) externs will not be renamed unless aliasExternals is used.

So sort, getElementById, parseInt and lots of others will not be renamed. I guess the compiler should see your properties as properties of RFM but it seems that it doesnt. If you rename path to myPath it should be renamed or use aliasExternals when compiling.

This is not quite correct. Properties names defined in externs will not be renamed unless the type-based optimizations are enabled (which are off by default). See code.google.com/p/closure-compiler/wiki/…. – Chad Killingsworth Aug 2 '13 at 12:38
