I have 2 tables (User and Profile) which contain @ManyToMany relationship below:

Profile class:

@Cache (usage = CacheConcurrencyStrategy.TRANSACTIONAL)
@Entity

    }

        m_id = id;
    }

    @ManyToMany(cascade = {CascadeType.PERSIST, CascadeType.MERGE}, 
                mappedBy="profiles")
    public List<User> getUsers() {

When I perform to save or update data with large user objects and then the hibernate session is not working.

Example:

List<User> users = new ArrayList(); users.add(new User("test", ..));
users.add(new User());
// 3500x... new User()
Profile profile = new Profile(name, users);
getSession().saveOrUpdate(profile);

The session didn't work and thrown some exceptions

Could not execute JDBC batch update; SQL [delete from User_Profile
  where user_id=?]; nested exception is
org.hibernate.exception.LockAcquisitionException: 
  Could not execute JDBC batch update

Welcome to stackoverflow! Can you tell us a bit more about your problem? What kind of database do you use? Do you fetch from the database before/during your example code? Also, can you post more of the Stacktrace? Lock acquisition errors can happen for a variety of reasons. –  mabi Aug 5 '13 at 11:41
    
I am using MySQL. The problem occurred when I updated a profile with a big user data (3500 users). Before performing update data, I also fetch the current data in DB for checking existing record. –  user1525949 Aug 5 '13 at 16:19
    
Sounds like Hibernate still holds the locks from your checks, then. Have you tried closing the "checking" session and opening a new one for the update? If that doesn't help/isn't an option, please edit your question to include the full stacktrace. –  mabi Aug 6 '13 at 9:40
