I m designing my first mobile application and i would appreciate some guidance reqarding the techologies i could use to achieve the desired functionality. My requirements are the following:
Once the application starts it should be running until the user terminates it by pressing the exit button. Even after 1 hour or 2
During the execution it should be able to ask questions to the user, get answers back and write the answers to the local database.(Well answers should only be numbers,yes and no)
The user should use bluetooth or wired headsets in order to interact with the app. This is the main way to interact because the phone would be in users pocket.
Can i have an application to be running until I SAY STOP RUNNING and if i can, what is there an approach to minimize battery consumsion? (found something relative here)
Also found in Android APIs, the android.speech.tts package for text to speech functionality, to post the questions to the user But what to do about voice recognition? An alternative would be to "encode" answers ask the users to use headset button clicks and translate them to the answer(like morse code)? (i m discouraged with the last option as it wont be very functional for the user and as far as i know not all headsets have buttons)
